Effective Cancer Communication

Constructive interaction and communication are themes Lifebuoy Video explore in the many of the video resources we produce. One of the challenges for volunteers working with The Cancer Council is how to interact successfully when faced with a challenging situation. In this suite of video’s, we scripted dialogue for professional actors to demonstrate both positive, and negative, interaction between people visiting a cancer information lounge and a volunteer. Each scenario explores communication techniques and interactions that may include responding to emotions and discussing difficult news. In this example, we see what happens when a volunteer does not show attention or empathy to a visitor.
