The Power of Sport

Local Drug Action Teams, (or LDAT members), support communities to work together to prevent and minimise the harm caused by alcohol and other drugs. The Alcohol and Drug Foundation supports LDATs with research, resources and expertise to help the teams respond to local issues. To celebrate the “Let’s Get Active” festival, we produced this short video to profile Melbourne’s Ethiopian community in Melbourne’s West and inspire other LDAT groups trying to bring positive change. For this community, sport and family are the key factors in preventing harm to younger people.
