Earlier this year, Mount Alexander Shire Council invited Lifebuoy Video to produce a series of audio guides for visitors to the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens. The scripted guides, voiced by local artists and actors, describe not only the layout of the gardens but also topics that include the history of the gardens, environmental impacts, ethnobotanical collections and indigenous influences. Lifebuoy Video worked with council, history and botanical experts in developing 10 x 3 minute audio recordings that visitors will soon be able to download via an app accessed by a QR code in various spots in the gardens. The soundtracks include voice over guides and background atmosphere including the sounds of local birds and frogs living in various areas of the park.
